We got rid of cable. Gasp...how in the world can you live without cable. I have actually been asked that. And the answer is.....easily. OK, not easy at first. At first there is a lot of complaining about being bored...etc...etc... And some of that comes from me!! Hahahaha. Right now the girls are playing...together...a make believe game...using imagination....pretending. I am hoping that we get back into reading more together soon also. It also helps with school work, less distraction. We still have a couple of stations. Mainly just stations like ABC, NBC, etc. We watch movies also. We rejoined Netflix and the library is fool of movies. I am going to set up the VCR also since we still have a ton of them and there are a lot of great educational type videos at the library. The girls also play their Nintendo 64 (yes, i know a dinosaur of video games but it is my favorite). OK, maybe mom plays the video games more then the kids but oh well!!!
Did I mention here on the blog that the girls are up to their second blue belt in martial arts. They are about half way to their Junior black belts. Scare, I know. They both have done so well. I am so proud of them. It is not easy and I truly have NO idea how they remember all those moves!!!
Following are some random pictures:
The first day of our "school" year. The girls plus some friends painting rocks out back....
Here is a wildly random picture of my collection of Willow Tree figurines. I have been collecting for a few years. My sister Nan sends me one every year for Christmas :-). The shelf I got at a tag sale for like $2.00...great find!! The candles hanging down the bottom sides we made at the Yankee Candle Factory. OK, when I say made I mean dipped and made them colorful.

Hi Mary! That sounds like a fun evening and day. The pictures are great - happy kids!
The quote is terrific. I am definitely writing that one down!
Hey, good for you! Sounds like good times & ditching the cable is a great idea for starting school. You have me thinking I should closet the TV for a couple of months again, it changes life so much for the better, thanks for the inspiration. Congrats also on the Karate, they are really kicking butt. Pun intended.
