Day 5 and still ok. I am starting to look forward to my morning smoothies and I am playing around with them. Yesterday morning I discovered some frozen strawberries in my freezer that I had forgotten about so have been adding them. I also have added some Kefir and some celery. The celery really added a nice taste and some natural saltiness. Who would have ever thought that I would enjoy this. Even my oldest daughter said to me today "mom, aren't you tired of those smoothie things already? They just look way too healthy." Oh well, maybe one day she will join me in my morning smoothie!!
Today I woke up and needed to go grocery shopping. I had a quick apple and decided that I would drink a smoothie when I got home. Big mistake. I was so hungry while grocery shopping and they say, never shop when you are hungry. By the time I got home i was starving so I decided to have my usual lunch and save the smoothie for later. We shall see how this works for me.
Did I mention my new favorite lunch. Yum!! I take an avocado and mix it with some fresh (locally made) ricotta and some hot sauce. I then put the mixture on some sprouted bread.
Last night I had a hamburger on some sprouted bread. I thought I would be able to handle it but it really made me feel, well, not so good. This may be my que to give up most meats. I will need to eat some chicken and fish and see how they agree with me.
On the positive side, Mr. EMT (my hubby) took my blood pressure yesterday and it was
117/74. I am going to tell the Dr. at my next appointment that it is time to lower my medication. Maybe one day I will be able to completely go off it....that is my goal!!
