The Direction of the Wind

For the next week I will be engaging in some new health, life giving goals. I will be documenting here, on this blog, my feelings, cravings and trials while I change my diet so to live a healthier lifestyle. The more I read about the positives of eating raw foods, I am more and more determined to change my diet, health and way of life. I understand it. It all makes sense to me. It is not a fad diet, there are no set menus or steps you have to take. I have been on so many diets in my life....I have spent thousands, really. I have come to learn that the word "diet" is a bad word. I would rather say lifestyle. How we eat is a lifestyle. Of course one of the benefits to becoming more healthy is to lose some of this weight. Excess weight, obesity, is a disease in its self. I am hoping to rid my body of some of the pains that come with obesity, both physical and mental.

So, here are some of my first goals, this will be week one.....

Goal Number 1: I will eat a raw breakfast every morning. This will be mostly in the form of green smoothies. Here is an example of a green smoothie:

Ingredients
Greens of your choice
3 Bananas
2 Oranges
water

And then you just blend them.

May not sound too appetizing to some but I had some from a friend and I loved it. The greens that were in the one I drank were Kale, celery and romaine lettuce.

Goal Number 2: Meditate for at least 5 minutes every morning. Meditation is a great way to start and end the day. Whether meditating on God or just silence.

Goal Number 3: Eat fruit and/or veggies with every meal.

So, there it is. One week.
